Per Diem Advocate
Job Purpose
To ensure continuity of coverage to all three local hospitals, primarily on weekends, weeknights, and holidays.

The work is highly confidential and sensitive in nature. Most work shall occur in evenings and weekends via CVAC on call.

Duties and responsibilities
- Provide advocacy services to victims in Broome County on an on-call basis.
- Sign up for monthly on-call hours via CVAC office (hours may vary month to month)
- Adhere to the laws of confidentiality.
- Must complete 40-hour rape crisis counselor training and an additional ten hours of ongoing, professional education each subsequent calendar year.
- Must complete shadowing process within three months of hire date.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience working with victims.
- Working knowledge of dynamics of victimization & response.
- Demonstrated ability to engage people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to remain flexible while working with diverse roles of professional team members.
- Ability to respond to cultural differences among organizations, client population, and staff.
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Criminal background check.
